Title: ID mapper API and plugin for Cytoscape
Abstract: This project is to develop an ID mapping plugin and publish the corresponding ID mapping API for other plugin developers. Different sources of ID information will be supported including local/remote files, databases and web services.

This project will be separate into the following tasks:

  1. Define the ID mapper APIs.
  2. RDB-based ID mapping.
  3. Webservice-based ID mapping.
  4. GUI, integration and testing.
  5. Local caching DB for ID mapping.
  6. ID type guessing.
  7. ID mapping validation and cleaning.
  8. Documentation and public release.
  9. Port to Cytoscape 3.
