I propose to develop the start of a simple e-mail framework for the GNOME desktop in a similar spirit to what the Telepathy project has done for instant messaging.
It is meant to be a lightweight process, likely to be written in Vala, that would be activated upon start up and require no further user interaction. It would provide access to folders and messages using a simple RPC interface over DBus. |
